Bradfield

"Take the high road, brave the high road; breathe into every moment, Light and Love..."
Bradfield has spent a lifetime pursuing his artistic vision, striving to capture what he refers to affectionately as "fleeting glimpses of beauty", those ephemeral moments many of us experience when we feel connected to the Divine Source. His creative potential seems to know no barriers, equally at ease in both the visual and sonic realms, drawing inspiration from everything that makes a heartfelt impression on his soul. Writing in a variety of musical genres from symphonic composition to modern day popular music and perhaps best known as the creator and producer of spiritual songstress Anael, Bradfield's melodic, lyrical compositions have been attributed by Shelley Yates (Fire the Grid]) as holding embedded tones to aid in the ascension of humanity to the next paradigm.
He approaches creation with a rare innocence, allowing full receptivity to what the universal energy has to share, devoting equal time to both "sound" and "verb" aspects. Bradfield is a classicist by virtue of the refined nature of his technique but the very core of his personality demands that his creations stem from a questioning of the apparent reality of the universe, worlds he then shapes to correspond with his own inner spiritual logic. Aspiring to raise the collective consciousness all while granting unfettered expression to his creative muse, driven from one challenge to another by an impulse greater than himself, Bradfield is a devoted advocate of the purity of intention, relying predominately on his intuition to steer him and his listeners ever so gently toward the Light.
Bradfield is a Canadian musician, poet, singer, composer, producer and musical visionary.
Bradfield was born May 12, 1965 in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, Canada and began music instruction at the age of 4 in the Yamaha Music School in Ottawa. Private lessons followed, with 7 seven years of piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music. During these years, he participated regularly in the Ottawa Music Festival, capturing several 1st and 2nd place finishes.
As an adolescent, he joined the Christ Church Cathedral (Ottawa)] Boys Choir under the directorship of Dr. Godfrey Hewitt. At 14, he was selected as one of the original cast members of "You Can't Do That On Television," the popular North American syndicated television show. Other awards during this time included 2 public speaking and Vocal Music school trophies.
High school saw Bradfield literally withdraw from social activities, as he began to explore his creativity alone. It was at this time that he abandoned his classical studies in favor of approaching music from his own unregimented perspective, writing his first compositions and prose.
At 18 he attended Algonquin College (Ottawa) in Radio & T.V. Broadcasting, completing the first of two years before leaving to devote all his energy to composition, arrangement and production. His early twenties saw him working different jobs to pay the bills, playing in the odd cover band and writing for and producing different musical projects.
The ensuing years were spent in virtual seclusion in various cities across Canada as Bradfield explored his muse, writing and creating profusely in a variety of art forms and styles. In September of 1993, he began the recording of what would be ''Harmony in the Chaos'', his first commercial release. He plays and sings every part on the record.
In February 1995, the album was released independently on his own independent label without any marketing or promotional support. It received a few glowing reviews, but was greeted with general indifference - which, considering the breadth and depth of its unique artistry, and the soaring passions of its multi-faceted expression, is simply tragic. The first single, ''Between The Flares'', spent 15 weeks on the RPM Adult Contemporary radio chart, reaching #31 in its 12th week of rotation.
He has continued on to release several solo piano albums - some featuring Anael - while focusing mainly on Anael's projects, as well as being one of the original organizers and founders of the Fire the Grid project (http://www.firethegrid.org). More recently, he has developed material pertaining to the reclaiming of our spiritual birthright and has produced an audio book ("Reconnecting With Our Divinity"), which presents his ongoing conference material.
There is much more on the horizon for Bradfield, with sacred tours to the crop circles in Wiltshire and the sacred Buddhist sites of Thailand slated for this summer (2010), as well as a live piano performance of selections from his "Sacred Signs" album at the Wiltshire Crop Circle Study Group Conference. (See Events for details.)
