The New Age Vision
| Blogs - NAV Site News |
My site, the New Age Vision, quietly and without fanfare, celebrated its one-year anniversary on October 13, 2008.
It has fallen into silence as I whirled about in my personal situations. This has been a thoroughly TOUGH year for me, personally. In retrospect, I would say the year before - when miracles were growing on trees for me - was designed specifically in order to give me something to hold on to while I traversed the days of this past year. Though the situation at the site made me frustrated and sad, I didn't have it in me to continue its healthy development. I take my role as a casual teacher of metaphysical concepts very seriously, and I do NOT put myself out there energetically when I do not feel in balance. Thus, silence on the site.
It was just beginning to really take off some when the poo hit the whirly blades. I could sit here and lament what transpired after that, but it wouldn't change anything. So instead, I am going to look to the future and determine to complete that vision that I had back a year ago.
The site is designed to replace my MySpace group, The New Age. MySpace has its issues, which I am fairly certain I can avoid on my own site. So, my son helped me set up the site, hosts it for me, and recently added this blog tool to it so that I can just leave MySpace behind me as a "home base". I now have my own home base, and I hope you enjoy visiting and exchanging with others in what I intend to be as safe a space as my group has always been.
I'd grown frustrated over at MySpace that there was no way to categorize the topics in the group, and that's mainly what this site is all about. It's hard to build a database of wisdom and understanding if no one knows where to find what they're looking for. So the site is designed to make that certain thing you wish to discuss more readily available, instead of having to scroll through pages and pages of posts hoping you find a topic close to the one you're interested in. This way, if you don't see the topic in the list, then create it - and people will know where to go in order to discuss with you! I like that so much. :)
So, to explain to those who do not know what the site is really all about - well, it has many elements that I think are just plain useful to anyone seeking to walk a spiritual path. There are forums about healing practices and practitioners, spiritual education sites, Lightworker specific information, New Age thought and practices, places to share links and references and such. The balance of the site is what the real vision is about for me. I wish to bring together many different people who are seeking the same sort of spiritual goals through different traditions and practices. In blending the visions of all these various groups, I hope we can manage to bring to the surface the similarities that flow through all of them, thus creating common ground upon which we may ALL stand. TOGETHER.
One of the greatest difficulties we face in the world today is that many people are so locked inside their systems that they view those outside of them as adversaries on some levels. This is not the case, in actuality. But in order to come to realize this, there has to be a meeting of the minds, a sharing of the ideals, a comprehensive study of how these diverse belief and practice systems are all traveling toward the same goal. Once people begin to understand this, it is my belief that some of the walls that separate us may begin to crumble, and we will become a more cohesive group of co-creators and that we may achieve better results in our world, more quickly.
There is much history to be learned about all of our systems of belief - and therein lies the liberty of all systems. There was something at work long before all these systems came into being, and it is my humble opinion that if we can strip away the vast majority of the doctrine and dogma that exist within the realms of these systems of belief, we may uncover what is Ultimate Truth. I do not think that a small group of people is likely to change the course of systems, but I hope to create one small catalyst which in turn inspires others who may go on to reveal what lies beneath all these constructs we have placed upon our experiences.
So, visit the site if this sounds interesting to you. The blog will still be here when you get back. :)
